Tips for Inexpensive RV Décor Updates from Dutchmen RV

You spend a lot of time in your RV, so why not make it as homey as possible? Luckily, there are many easy ways to add decorative touches that make your RV interior your own. Here’s how to add personality and style to your RV décor from top to bottom.

RV Interior Lighting
Like any home, an RV needs overhead lighting, task lighting, and ambient lighting. Although your RV is likely outfitted with these features, you can often change out elements to enhance the environment. One easy option: Substitute warm-toned LED bulbs for cool ones for softer, cozier lighting. 

You can also swap out utilitarian overhead fixtures with more decorative ones, from sleek pendant lights for a modern look to small chandeliers that give a vintage vibe. 

LED string lights and battery-operated LED candles can also add romance and ambiance to your RV interior.

Style Your Windows 
Windows offer one of the easiest ways to style the décor to your liking. Curtains in white or pale colors are a great way to lighten up the look of your RV. Bright colors or patterns add instant personality, whether you like cottage style, mid-century, traditional, or whimsical.

Enhance the Walls
It is possible to paint the walls of your RV—but why go to all that trouble? Temporary wallpapers come in a range of styles and colors to complement the existing décor or create an accent wall. You can also hang draperies from rods mounted near the ceiling to give your environment a new look. Perhaps the simplest way to change your RV’s walls is to mount maps, posters, or even heavy artistic wrapping paper with mounting squares.

Traditional throw rugs, especially the washable kind, can also lend color and coziness to your home on wheels. With all rugs, make sure they have a non-skid backing or place a pad underneath to prevent slips and falls.

You can change the mood, color scheme, and style of your RV interior simply by adding other home accents. A quick trip to a home or department store offers an often inexpensive array or goods to choose from. Bright, patterned pillows, a woven tablecloth, novelty bed linens, slipcovers, and throws add color, texture, and personality to your RV. Likewise, hard decorative accents like picture frames, cabinet and drawer pulls, planters, and storage baskets can help pull your new look together.
